She studied at the Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (1990-1996). She followed the specialization in General Surgery at the University Hospital “Aretaieion” (1997-2004), while throughout her specialization she worked in the breast unit at the same hospital. She received an Onassis Foundation scholarship for further training in Great Britain in 1998. She completed her doctoral thesis at the Medical School of the University of Athens in December 2001, on the topic: “Changes in adrenal hormones during surgical blockade of the hepatoduodenal ligament (Pringle Manipulation)”. She specialized in breast surgery at St Mary’s Hospital, London. In the spring of 2005, she trained in Intraoperative Breast Radiotherapy at the Moffitt Cancer Center, Florida, USA. Upon her return to Greece, she began her collaboration with the 3rd Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the Attikon University Hospital, as a Lecturer under Presidential Decree 407/80. In September 2011, in Stockholm, she received the European Diploma in Breast Surgery FEBS (European Board of Surgical Qualification on Breast Surgery), after examinations and evaluation by the UEMS committee. In October 2021, she received the European CEBS certification of BRESO (Breast Surgical Oncology Certification), after retrospective evaluation.

Her research work has been published in prestigious international medical journals such as Breast, Clin Breast Cancer, etc. She has publications in International and Greek Medical journals, with references in the international bibliography, and has given more than 100 Lectures as an invited speaker at International and Greek Breast conferences. She has participated in the writing of 4 Books on Breast Diseases and Cancer International and Greek. She participates in the editorial board of several international Medical journals.

In May 2021, she founded the non-profit organization Build a Bridge, which aims to provide free medical services (surgical treatment and complementary therapies) to women with breast and gynecological cancer, who do not have access to specialized health services either due to geographical or socioeconomic limitations.
