Oncologist – Radiotherapist

Louiza Vini is a graduate of the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She trained in Clinical Oncology – Radiotherapy at the Royal College of Radiologists, Faculty of Oncology, London.
She worked as a Specialist Oncologist – Radiotherapist, Curator at the Royal Marshden Hospital, London from July 1993 to July 1995, treating patients with breast, brain, urinary and gastrointestinal cancers. She then became a Lecturer/Researcher at the Institute of Cancer Research, Sutton, London and then Head of the Thyroid Cancer Research Group, at the Royal Marsden. From 1999 to 2001, she served as Director of the Oncology and Radiotherapy Department at the Lung Cancer Group at the Royal Marsden in London.
Upon returning to Greece, she assumed the position of Scientific Director of the Department of Clinical Oncology and Radiotherapy at the Inter-Balkan Medical Center from September 2001 to October 2002. Following this, she assumed the position of Director of the Department of Clinical Oncology and Radiotherapy at the Athens Medical Center from November 2002 to the present.
She is a member of numerous scientific societies and scientific councils in Greece and abroad, as well as a rich scientific and writing work. She has made scientific presentations at more than 30 international conferences and more than 20 Greek conferences and has written five chapters in foreign-language Oncology books, and eight chapters in Greek books. He has published over 30 papers in prestigious foreign-language journals and has participated in the writing of the guidelines for the treatment of thyroid cancer in Great Britain, for the treatment of colorectal cancer (CRC) and for the treatment of esophageal and rectal cancer (CRC).
