Dr. Panagiotis Kollaras is a Specialist Pathologist-Infectious Diseases Specialist with many years of clinical, academic and research experience in Greece and abroad. Since November 2014, he has been the National Health Insurance Director of the First Pathology Clinic at AHEPA Hospital and since April 2026 at the Inter-Balkan Medical Center of Thessaloniki. He is a graduate of the Medical School of the University of Patras and has been Head of the Infections Department of the First Pathology Clinic since 2004. Since the academic year 2001, he has participated in the education of students at the Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. His clinical activity focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of diseases, with particular experience in infections inside and outside the Hospital. At the same time, he maintains intense academic and research activity, with
more than 190 publications in international scientific journals,
numerous presentations at conferences and participation in research projects in the
field of Pathology and Infections. He is an external reviewer of international
journals and an active member of European and Greek scientific societies.
His medical philosophy is based on the combination of high scientific
specialization, technological innovation and human-centered care, with
the aim of the safe and personalized treatment of each patient.
