Live better with diabetes
Within the framework of the European Horizon 2020 project VALUECARE, the Athens Medical Group, through the Diabetes Unit of the Athens Medical Center, is co-organizing, together with the Civil Society organization “Alliance for Integrated Care”, the event
“Live better with diabetes”.
The event will take place at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, on January 22, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Participation in the event is free of charge and aims to inform people with Diabetes over 60 years of age on the best management of the disease.
The event will be attended by a fitness instructor who will demonstrate special easy exercises as well as a dietitian who will suggest easy, tasty and healthy recipes. An examination by a podiatrist specialized in diabetes will also be offered.
Attendees will be able, if they wish, to participate free of charge in the European VALUECARE Program, which concerns guidance in the daily management of diabetes mellitus.
All participants will be provided with free laboratory tests related to diabetes and diabetic nephropathy. Through the program, a group of patients will also be given a free smartwatch, through which the monitoring/mobilization of physical activity will be facilitated. The program is implemented through the use of easy technology, a free mobile application, which assists, among other things, in the correct choice of exercise and nutrition on a personalized basis.
Support is provided by doctors and nurses from the Diabetes Unit of the Athens Medical Center.

Transportation for those without transportation:
- Boarding a mini bus at 10:45 a.m. in front of the Concert Hall for transfer to the hotel at 11:00 a.m. Return to the Concert Hall Metro will be at 2:30 p.m. from the hotel entrance.
- Boarding a mini bus at 11:00 a.m. in front of AB Vassilopoulos of Neo Psychiko on Odo Olympionikan, for transfer to the hotel at 11:15 a.m. The return to the Megaron Metro will be at 2:45 p.m. from the hotel entrance.
