Athens, November 22, 2021 – The Athens Medical Group consistently and systematically invests in High-Tech equipment by installing Modern Technology machines in its officially collaborating Diagnostic Centers. Its aim is for all Greeks, wherever they live, to enjoy the latest achievements in Medical Technology. Thus, it proceeded to procure a PHILIPS 1.0 T High-Field Open Magnetic Tomography Scanner, with an Ambient Experience environment.

This new Open Magnetic Tomography Imaging System is the first and only one in the Prefecture of Cyclades. It was installed and operates in the largest Diagnostic Center – Polyclinic of the Prefecture, Naxos Diagnostics A.I.E., the official partner of the Athens Medical Group in the Cyclades, in which, in fact, the Modern Day Hospitalization Unit will soon operate, strengthening the Group’s presence in the Cyclades islands.

The Philips Panorama 1.0T system offers, among other things, a large number of advanced technical features:

• combines technological superiority with the capture of very high-definition images in short examination times
• offers low noise levels
• combats the feeling of “claustrophobia” with its enlarged opening and the reduction of the length of the examination field
• has a unique viewing angle 360 degrees.

At this point, it is worth noting the capabilities of the new MRI in pediatric cases. In these cases, the use of mild sedation, a method that can extend the examination time, up to 6 hours, is not required. On the contrary, with the use of the Ambient Experience that this imaging system has, the anxiety experienced by children is reduced, before and during the examination.

Specifically, with the help of the program, our little friends are in an examination room filled with images and games that suit the child’s temperament. In this way, the familiarity that children feel with the space is greatly improved, with the direct result of better cooperation for an easy and painless examination.

The supply of the first and only 1.0 T High Field Open Magnetic Tomography Scanner from PHILIPS, with Ambient Experience environment, in the prefecture of Cyclades, by the Athens Medical Group comes to strengthen the already high-standard Imaging Department of the Naxos Diagnostics A.I.E. Polyclinic (Philips Brilliance 64-Slice Modern Technology CT Scanner), in which all imaging examinations are performed, offering reliable results and the best diagnosis.
