Large Joint Clinic of the Athens Medical Center: Reference and training center for total hip arthroplasty using the ASI method.
The educational work of the Large Joint Clinic of the Athens Medical Center, headed by Dr. Ioannis Tsarouchas, Orthopaedic Surgeon, Director of the Large Joint Clinic of the Athens Medical Center, continues for orthopedic surgeons from Greece and abroad, in the ASI-Anterior Supine Intermuscular Method for hip arthroplasty.
The Large Joint Clinic of the Athens Medical Center is the only reference center in Greece and one of the few in Europe for training in this technique. The selection of the Large Joint Clinic came as a result of a thorough evaluation by representatives of the Zimmer Biomet company, based on the way the technique was applied by the surgical team and the adequacy of the Hospital’s infrastructure, in connection with the large number of successful procedures that have already been performed.
Since February 2019 until today, 16 visiting orthopedic surgeons have been hosted. All participating trainees successfully completed the program and declared themselves completely satisfied with the level of knowledge they acquired.
