International recognition for Dr. Konstantinos M. Konstantinidis – Elected President of the World Robotic Surgery Society CRSA
During the World Robotic Surgery Congress, which took place in Chicago, United States of America (September 15-17, 2023), the Board of Directors and the
General Assembly of the CRSA Scientific Society, in a special ceremony, appointed Dr. Konstantinos M. to the position of President of the World Robotic Surgery Society CRSA. Konstantinidis.
This recognition, by election, makes him the first Greek surgeon to head a global robotic surgery company. At the same time, he was assigned the full scientific responsibility for organizing the annual global conference “CRSA CONGRESS 2024”, which will be held in Rome in November 2024 and which he will chair.
This international recognition coincides with the 17th anniversary of the implementation of Robotic Surgery at the Athens Medical Center (September 2006-2023) and with many thousands of successful General Surgery procedures, rewarding the impressive progress in the journey of Robotic Technology that Dr. Konstantinidis’ team first began in 2006 in Southeastern Europe.
Dr. Konstantinos M. Konstantinidis, in his first speech as president, stated, among other things: “It is a great joy and honor for me to be elected as President of CRSA. Through this position, not only is my personal career as a surgeon recognized, but at the same time the quality of our Group is also expressed. The contribution of my associates, Fotis Antonakopoulos, Panos Athanasopoulos, Agis Ioannidis, Marinos Makris, Dimitris Flintras, Ilias Kanellopoulos, is enormous for this and I thank them especially!
I want to thank, from the bottom of my heart, the leader of the Athens Medical Group Dr. Giorgos Apostolopoulos, CEO Dr. Vasilis Apostolopoulos, Vice President Christos Apostolopoulos and Mrs. Titi Apostolopoulos for their continuous and very important moral and logistical support. Most of all, however, I would like to thank all those who entrusted their health and surgical problems to me and my colleagues at the Athens Medical Center”.
