International distinction for the “Center for Complex Hernias and Abdominal Wall Reconstruction” of the Inter-Balkan Medical Center

The “Center for Complex Hernias and Abdominal Wall Reconstruction” of the Inter-Balkan Medical Center was certified as a CENTER OF EXCELLENCE. This is the highest international distinction in the provision of specialized health services, which few Hospitals worldwide have received.
At the same time, the Director of the Center, An. Professor of Surgery at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Mr. Grigoris Hatzimavroudis was awarded the titles of SURGEON OF EXCELLENCE and MASTER SURGEON.
The “Center for Complex Hernias and Abdominal Wall Reconstruction” was certified as a Center of Excellence by the largest international surgical certification body, Surgical Review Corporation (SRC)*, after a rigorous evaluation and inspection carried out at our Hospital by the General Manager of SRC, Dr. Neil Hutcher (Chief Marketing Officer-CMO).
The Inter-Balkan Medical Center received the international CENTER OF EXCELLENCE certification after a rigorous evaluation of a series of parameters such as:
- the high success and safety rates of abdominal wall hernia repair surgeries
- the use of state-of-the-art medical equipment
- the strict implementation of quality policies and protocols
- the experience and training of the certified Surgeon of Excellence Mr. Hatzimavroudis
- the excellent training of the nursing staff
The inspection concerned the integrity of the operation of the operating rooms, the intensive care unit, patient information and service, as well as operational issues and scientific meetings of the responsible medical team.
This highest distinction of the “Center for Complex Hernias and Abdominal Wall Reconstruction” certifies the high quality of the services provided and ensures effectiveness at all stages of the patient’s surgical treatment. More specifically, the following are ensured:
- Full compliance with strict quality protocols during the diagnosis, treatment and postoperative course of patients with abdominal wall hernia.
