Obstetrician - GynecologistGeorgios Gitas was born and raised in Thessaloniki, where he studied at the Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2004-2010, graduation grade: 7.36 / 10) through the national exams with a grade of 19.4 / 20. After completing his military service and a short stay as a scientific associate of the First University Clinic of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Papageorgiou Hospital, he settled in Germany for 11 years, where he worked and received the best scientific training.
He specialized in leading hospitals in Germany, as presented in detail below, which provided the full range of Obstetrics, Perinatal, Gynecology and Oncology with a Breast Center. After exams, he received the title of specialist Obstetrician-Gynecologist (2012-2017) and was declared a doctor of the Saarland University in Germany. He then specialized in Gynecological Oncology, Breast Surgery, Urogynecology, Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgery and received the above official specializations, after exams, based on German and European criteria.
He directed and developed the Endoscopy Center, the Endometriosis Center as well as the Urogynecological Center of the University of Lübeck, one of the most historic Universities in the field of Gynecology. He also directed the Gynecological Department of the Berlin University Hospital Charité Campus Mitte, the most famous university in Europe with an excellent reputation in the global scientific community, making him perhaps the youngest doctor to reach this level in Europe. In 2022, Charité was awarded the best hospital in Europe and the fifth best in the world.
He teaches Endoscopy and Robotic Surgery at the ‘School of Gynaecological Endoscopy’ of the University of Kiel, the center that gave birth to laparoscopic surgery, with the aim of passing on his knowledge to colleagues.
