He studied Medicine at the University of Ioannina, where he holds a Medical Degree with distinction. He specialized for 1.5 years in general surgery at the 401 Military Hospital and 4.5 years in Neurosurgery at the General State Hospital of Nice. He was trained at Munich University in endoscopic spine surgery and at Dijon University Hospital in diseases and modern surgical techniques of the spine.

He served for about a year as Director of the Neurosurgery Clinic at Asklepios Hospital in Athens, for four years as Director of the Neurosurgery Clinic at Atheneum, for 16 years as Director of the Neurosurgery Clinic and Spine Department at Metropolitan Hospital and for 8 years as Director of the Neurosurgery Clinic and Spine Department at Euroclinic Athens.

He provides European Consultation on the use of artificial discs of the Cervical Spine (2007-2010). Dynamic systems of the Lumbar Spine (1999-2006) and 3D printing disc replacement cages (2022-present).

He was the first to bring to Greece Spinal Fusion with dynamically moving systems and placement of artificial discs of the Cervical Spine. Certified for placement of Baclofen and Morphine pumps for multiple sclerosis and pain respectively. Also for placement of intraspinal electrodes for neuromodulation for chronic pain. Minimally invasive techniques in Spinal and brain surgery that include Spinal Fusions, endoscopic discectomies and treatment of fractures using navigation, as well as stereotactic brain biopsies and DBS for the treatment of epilepsy and extrapyramidal syndromes.

He is a member of Eurospine, the Hellenic Neurosurgical Society, the Hellenic Spine Society and the Hellenic Spine Society.

He has published numerous scientific papers in foreign and Greek medical journals. He actively participates in international and Greek scientific conferences.
