Honorary distinction for three female doctors of the Athens Medical Group by the committee of female doctors of the Panhellenic Medical Association
The Women’s Committee of the Panhellenic Medical Association has awarded eight female doctors for their outstanding achievements in the field of medicine, recognizing their significant contribution to medical science. Their award is a recognition of their dedication and excellence and they are an inspiration to all female doctors who follow the same dreams and ambitions.

The following were awarded by the Athens Medical Group:
Athanasiadou – Piperopoulou Fani, Emeritus Professor of Pediatrics-Pediatric Hematology of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Director of the Pediatric Clinic & Scientific Director of the Inter-Balkan Medical Center of Thessaloniki. Her award was received by the New Democracy MP for Karditsa, Mr. Aristotelis (Teli) Spania.
In her acceptance speech, Ms. Athanasiadou Piperopoulou stated: “It is a special honor for me to be included among the female doctors who have distinguished themselves during their many years of practice of medicine in our country and abroad. An honor, because I consider it the highest recognition from colleagues who take into account, in addition to the scientific competence and contribution of each of us, to the improvement of applied medicine in our country, but also to social contribution and action.”
Greka Athina, Specialist Pathologist, Scientific Associate, Athens Medical Center, Doctors of the World. The award was received by the MP of SYRIZA Corfu, Mr. Alexandros Avlonitis.
During her award ceremony, Ms. Greka noted that: “Today’s award ceremony, which is related to International Women’s Day, is, in addition to my personal award, also a parallel award for all the women in the organization of doctors around the world who try, toil, struggle and achieve the best they can every day.”
Koutsoukou Antonia, Professor of the Medical School of the National University of Athens, Pulmonologist, Intensivist, Management Consultant, Athens Medical Group. The award was received by the Member of Parliament of the Hellenic Solution Ms. Maria Evangelou Athanasiou.
“I want to congratulate the team of the Medical Association for this initiative it took, to establish itself and to point out that it has a great obligation: to give women the position they deserve, a process that requires education and the medical community, which is recognized by its high education, has a special role in this” said Ms. Koutsoukou upon receiving the award.
Present at the event were, among others, Metropolitan of Laodicea Theodoritos, President of the Panhellenic Medical Association Dr. Athanasios Exadaktylos, representatives of the state and political leadership as well as distinguished doctors and scientists.
Athens Medical Group, as a pioneer, highlights the abilities of its female employees and recognizes their contribution to its success. Their award is a great honor, underlining their high level of professionalism.
