Children’s shoes: how to choose them
Did you know that:
- People who walk barefoot have the best feet!!!
- A child needs a soft and flexible shoe that allows the greatest freedom for the immature child’s foot to develop.
- Shoes are useful for protecting the feet from the cold and sharp objects.
- No shoe shapes the shape of the foot and similarly a bad shoe can deform and create a painful foot.
- “Orthopedic” shoes and “orthopedic” insoles do not help the normal child’s developing foot to shape. On the contrary, they make it difficult and cause concern for children.
How do I choose the right shoe?
- Correct size
Children’s shoes are better to be bigger than small. Since children’s feet grow quickly, buy shoes about a centimeter larger.
- Correct shape
Avoid strange shapes, pointed shoes or heels. Children’s shoes should be wide and not narrow.
- Flexible
Stiff, hard “orthopedic” shoes are unsuitable for children’s feet. They limit the freedom of movement that is necessary for strengthening the muscles of the foot.
- Flat – non-slip
Children run, play and are prone to falls. Choose shoes with a flat sole and non-slip bottom to prevent slipping.
- Material
Prefer shoes with a material that allows the foot to “breathe”.
- Cost
Good shoes are not necessarily expensive.
Remember: The best shoe is the equivalent of going barefoot!!!
